Stichting De Coene vzw (De Coene Foundation, a non-profit organisation)
was founded on the 9th of september 1998 in response to a growing interest in
the creative projects launched by De Coene between 1888 and1977.
The firm started as De Coene Frères (°1905) and was subsequently known as
n.v. Kortrijkse Kunstwerkstede gebroeders De Coene (°1925)
and n.v. Houtindustrie De Coene & co (°1966) respectively.   

The foundation contributes to the preservation and conservation of the material and
immaterial cultural heritage of De Coene. This organisation promotes the spirit of
De Coene’s enterprise in creativity via a host of activities, including publications,
lectures exhibitions and other public oriented events in the fields of the arts,
architecture, interior design, furniture design, decoration, etc.
